Brenda Lee The list is forming for “Little Miss Dynamite,” and fans of vintage American music are hoping a slot on the list will get them a seat in the audience.

Saturday’s productions of “An Evening with the Legendary Brenda Lee” at The Ritz Theatre has sold out, and theatre directors say the waiting list is the best bet to try to catch the Lithonia, Ga., native who started her recording career 47 years ago this month.

“We’re so excited she’s coming,” said George Culver, Ritz executive director. “Everybody’s kind of excited to have a legend here.”

The show and its “evening with” format bring more than just a standard concert, he said. In addition to songs from her vast country and popular music career, Lee will spend some time with the audience giving autographs.

Lee was inducted into the Rock ’n Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and earned the distinction of being the only female recording artist to be in both halls of fame for country and rock music. (She was inducted into the County Music Hall of Fame in 1997.)

Lee was known in her early singing days – from age 6 as a child prodigy – as the little girl with the big voice. By the age of 13, she’d already appeared on the Grand Ole Opry with Elvis, and before she turned 20, The Beatles were opening concerts for her.

The shows are at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., and to be put on the waiting list, call The Ritz at 315-0000 or go on-line to the Web site at www.talladega.com/ritz.
